Hagin Chapter 1 1 THE GLORY IN THE OLD TESTAMENT But he [Stephen, the first martyr], being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw THE GLORY OF GOD, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God. —Acts 7:55 We frequently feel the glory of God in manifestation among us. And as we walk with God, we're conscious of His glory, and we're [Page 4] 4 changed from glory to glory. But in Acts 7:55, it says Stephen saw something. What did he see? The Jews who heard Stephen preach this sermon in Acts 7 well understood what Stephen meant when he said he saw the glory of God. There are many references to the glory of God in the Old Testament, beginning with these from Exodus. EXODUS 16:7,10 7 And in the morning, then ye shall see THE GLORY OF THE LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the Lord.... 10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, THE GLORY OF THE LORD appeared in the cloud. EXODUS 40:34,35 34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and THE GLORY OF THE LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and THE GLORY OF THE LORD filled the tabernacle. LEVITICUS 9:4,6,23 4 Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the Lord; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the Lord will appear unto you.... 6 And Moses said, This is the thing which the Lord commanded that ye should do: and THE GLORY OF THE LORD shall appear unto you....
